NANCY NATHANSON Needs Blood & Platelets Our member, Nicole Bier's mother, Nancy Nathanson, has just undergone a bone marrow transplant. For those who do not know Nicole, she is mother of Sam who is in the 4's at Temple Sholom, and she is also the mother of Mathew and Seth who are in 3rd grade at Carmel Academy. Nancy is currently a patient at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Her treatment requires regular blood and platelet transfusions, and Nicole, Nancy and their family would deeply appreciate your donation of blood and/or platelets and requests that you ask others you know to donate. Donations not used by Nancy will be released for use by other patients, many of whom are children. To benefit Nancy, all designated donations must be made in the Blood Donor Room of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Please visit www.mskcc.org/blooddonations for complete information about donor eligibility and the donation process for blood or platelets. Appointments are necessary- All blood types are acceptable. For answers to questions and to schedule an appointment that is convenient for you please contact Joe Licata: Manager, Blood Donor Program, via email at licataj@mskcc.org or 212-639-8177. The process for donating whole blood takes approximately 1 hour. The process for donating platelets takes about 2 ½ hours. FREE parking is available to all donors at the Somerset Parking Garage, 1365 York Avenue -entrance on NW corner of 72nd Street. We hope that you will be able to engage in this great mitzvah to help a cherished member of our Temple Sholom family. |
