TISHA B'AV August 8th - 9th, 2011 Tisha B'Av, the Fast of the Ninth of Av, is a day of mourning to commemorate the many tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people. Tisha B'Av will be observed this year from sundown on Monday, August 8th until sundown on Tuesday, August 9th. At Temple Sholom, services will take place on Monday evening, August 8th at 6:30pm. Participants are encouraged to bring flashlights, as the lighting in the sanctuary will be dimmed. On Tuesday, August 9th, our regular Lunch 'n' Learn program will take place, but as a reminder, lunch will not be served in observance of this fast day.
